GEM-Pack Berries' Michelle Deleissegues Discusses Coming Introductions in the Lead Up to IFPA's GPFS 2024

WATSONVILLE, CA - Proprietary offerings, as well as an eye on improving those offerings by how they are packaged, have kept GEM-Pack Berries a dynamic brand this year, culminating in much to share for the approaching Fresh Produce Association’s (IFPA) Global Produce & Floral Show (GPFS).

Michelle Deleissegues, Senior Vice President of Marketing, GEM-Pack

“Our team is always striving to be ahead of the curve with farming technology, sustainable packaging, and other key production incentives. In particular, we are working on two key sustainable packaging alternatives,” Michelle Deleissegues, Senior Vice President of Marketing, recently shared. “One involves an exclusive partnership with BADP, America, testing and exploring microbial-induced enzyme additive technology to set new standards in sustainable packaging.”

Other initiatives include exploring new labeling technology that the supplier could be sampling as soon as in the coming weeks. It is an exciting twist even after some challenges have kept GEM-Pack busy from Mother Nature’s end.

“In the past year, we’ve seen some difficult berry weather and markets, but GEM-Pack has been able to rise above it and deliver a consistent supply of quality berries to our loyal customers, as well as expand on our customer base as we assimilated the Well-Pict brand and team. In fact, we look forward to continued growth in 2025,” Michelle assured me.

GEM-Pack will be showcasing its sustainable packaging alternatives at this year's International Fresh Produce Association's Global Produce & Floral Show

The brand has had an extensive proprietary berry program for years that has only continued to grow, offering successful strawberry and blackberry proprietary varietals grown in California and Mexico.

“In 2024, we expanded our proprietary offerings with a broader range of strawberry varietals, as well as proprietary raspberries. Gem-Pack is now deeper and broader in proprietary offerings and our intention is to keep building on the momentum,” Michelle concluded.

With plenty of seeds planted, metaphorically and physically, you do not want to miss booth #B2649 while exploring the expansive IFPA show floor this month!
