H-E-B Breaks Ground on 90K-Square-Foot Store in Houston, Texas
HOUSTON, TX - We’re continuing to spread the Valentine's Day love, even though it's sadly already behind us, and what better way to do that than share H-E-B’s new 90,000-square-foot store? The retailer officially broke gound on its MacGregor Market on February 9, 2019. The store, located in the Third Ward/ Riverside community of Houston, Texas, will feature expansive shopping options and added services for convenience, quality selection, and freshness.
“We are thankful to the community for supporting our expansion in this important, historic area of Houston,” said Winell Herron, H-E-B’s Group VP for Public Affairs, Diversity and Environmental Affairs. “We are excited to build a store with the best that H-E-B has to offer.”
According to a company press release, MacGregor Market shoppers will have access to traditional selections of local favorites, as well as fresh produce, dairy, H-E-B organics, a full-service bakery department with artisan breads and self-serve pastry items, an expansive deli featuring in-house roasted meats, full-service seafood department, a wine department, a dedicated curbside pick-up area, and so much more. The dedicated curbside pick-up area is one of the retailer’s newest features.
“I am confident this store will serve as the catalyst for more economic development and revitalization in the Third Ward/Riverside community and will be heralded as a national model for public/private partnerships,” said City Council Member Dwight Boykins.
Construction is set to begin soon, with a completed store scheduled for late 2019.
