LIV Organic Produce Showcases CA Grapefruit Varieties and Specialty Mandarin Retail Program
OCEANSIDE, CA - When it comes to companies that separate themselves from the pack, LIV Organic Produce has achieved it in volumes, driving its vision with an unrivaled blueprint for success and an undeniable record of growth and innovation. All to say that the proof is in the pudding—or, rather, the organic citrus.
With the recent winter storm in Texas impacting fresh produce supplies and the demand for organic citrus on the rise, LIV Organic is responding to retailers’ needs with premium fruit and California-grown grapefruit varieties to elevate buy-side programs, fill the gap, and boost sales.
“If last year’s record demand tells us anything, it is that retailers need to plan early and build their organic grapefruit and citrus destinations proactively instead of being reactionary,” Anthony Innocenti, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, shares with me. “With our new and freshly renovated packing house in full production, control of the entire process from root to market under our watchful eye, and an increase in our premium grower base, we are seeing excellent success across the board and for our partners.”
LIV Organic is currently growing Stars and Ruby Red grapefruit varieties in Southern California with the company’s local San Diego grapefruit crop now being harvested.
“The grapefruit’s quality and flavor are amazing this year, with a deep red color and brix testing as high as 15. These varieties are sure to be a hit,” Carrie Briones, Head of Sales and Grower Relations, shares. “We have good supplies on local grapefruit now through the end of April, and several options on weights for bags as well as a standard bulk option."
The message that I am gleaning from this conversation? Planning for promotions cannot wait.
On top of a successful California grapefruit program, LIV Organic’s highly-anticipated Tango mandarins are coming down the line as well.
“Our tree-ripened Tango crop has just started being harvested and is in the peak of flavor as we speak. Our meticulous growing and harvesting practices ensure that we only bring premium fruit to market with outstanding flavor and sweetness,” Anthony says.
With retailers looking to drive sales this coming spring and throughout the year, LIV Organic works diligently to tailor programs and specs to each of its customers.
“We have the capability to pack in bags or several sizes of bulk options as well,” Carrie expresses. “Our resources and solutions are primed to address today’s evolving consumer buying behaviors, which tell us that the demand for organic citrus is on the rise.”
As we look at the expanse of LIV Organic’s portfolio, the company is also offering several specialty items such as Blood oranges, Meyer lemons, and mandarins in addition to LIV Organic’s core items which include traditional lemons, Navel oranges, and grapefruit.
“By working with small to medium size growers, we are able to work directly with them to harvest at peak ripeness,” Carrie wraps up.
With health and wellness top of mind and the anticipation of heightened demand this year across organic citrus, LIV Organic is positioned to respond to the industry’s needs, from the stem to the sale.
