Oppy is Recognized as One of Canada's Top 100 Employers for Second Time; John Anderson and Satri Alpine Discuss
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA - As many of us in this industry have been blessed to find out, life is much better when you truly like the place you work. Oppy has been recognized for fostering a happy and safe work environment for its employees and was selected as one of Canada’s Top Employers, marking the second year in a row it has garnered this distinction.
“It is an absolute honor for Oppy to be chosen among the best companies in Canada yet again,” said Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and Managing Partner John Anderson. “First receiving this recognition in one of the most exceptionally challenging years, and yet again as we work to emerge from it, is an encouraging acknowledgement of the workplace we aspire to build every day. It reassures us that we are headed in the right direction as we grow our tomorrow."
The national competition is managed by Mediacorp Canada and recognizes employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces and progressive human resource policies, according to a press release. Detailed reasons for each selection are published, ensuring transparency in the selection of winners while raising the bar for other employers looking to bolster their own workforce policies.
The entrants are evaluated based on eight criteria which address a variety of metrics including health and family-friendly benefits, training and skills development, financial benefits and compensation, work atmosphere and communications, and more. Companies are compared to industry peers to determine which organizations offer the most progressive programs. This year, Oppy was selected to be included in the career directory for Canada’s Best Employers for Recent Graduates, which is a guide to entry-level recruitment for recent college and university graduates.
“We are so proud of our team who has continued to show resilience, passion, and persistence throughout the past year,” said Vice President of Talent and Culture and Chief People Officer Satri Alpine. “As they commit to bringing healthy produce to tables across North America, we will continue to build a workplace that is innovative, inclusive, and well-positioned to deliver our purpose into the future.”
In 2021, the fresh produce grower, marketer, and distributor was selected as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies by Deloitte for the 21st consecutive year, in addition to being named a BC Top Employers recipient and presented with one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures awards.
Congratulations to the fresh maven on this recent accomplishment! AndNowUKnow will continue to report on the company’s growth in the industry.
