Oppy Strengthens International Reach on New Continent with New Team Member
BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA - ANUK has been a fountain of new leader stories, and we couldn’t be happier! Oppy recently appointed Sila Louw as its newest Grower Relations leader, where he will focus on cultivating strong relationships with grower partners. This also marks Oppy expanding its footprint to a new continent, as Louw will be based in Cape Town, South Africa.

With over 10 years of experience in fresh produce in South Africa, Louw’s varied background in the industry encompasses numerous roles including marketing, branding, as well as commercial and stakeholder management for a variety of large South African companies. According to a press release, he also brings to the table deep local knowledge of various key categories including grapes, avocados, and citrus. He also has expertise in growing international operations.
In his new position, Louw will be instrumental in explaining the Oppy model in North America and outlining all the services Oppy can provide to ensure its grower partner’s products are cared for along every step of the supply chain process. He will be active in product and market development opportunities throughout the African continent as new items and new countries of origin continue to emerge in this region.

Currently, Oppy markets grapes and citrus from South Africa, with strategic plans for growth within these categories as well as others, including kiwifruit, apples, and avocados.
