MODESTO, CA - Save Mart Supermarkets is proud to serve as Official Partner of the 39th annual San Joaquin Asparagus Festival, taking place at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds from Friday, April 11 to Sunday, April 13. The community event draws large crowds each year in celebration of spring with local fresh produce, vendors, live music, carnival rides, a petting zoo, and more family fun. Discounted tickets are on sale now and available at all Save Mart and Lucky stores through April 13.

“The San Joaquin Asparagus Festival is a staple event in the community where neighbors come together to treat themselves to some delicious food, have fun, and make new memories,” said John Norman, vice president of store operations at Save Mart, in a recent press release. “We are proud to support an important event that celebrates the local farmers and the bounty of fresh produce that we are all fortunate to enjoy this time of year.”

Save Mart is the Presenting Partner of Asparagus Alley, a main draw of the festival where guests can sample dozens of creative dishes such as deep-fried asparagus and asparagus ice cream. The Save Mart booth will offer farm-fresh asparagus for purchase by the bunch or case and will also welcome guests to partake in lawn games, photo ops, charging stations, or relax at the shaded picnic tables. Save Mart’s famous giant shopping cart, “Big Red,” will be on display all three days of the festival for attendees to enjoy.

At Asparagus Plaza, where Save Mart is the Title Sponsor, local chefs will demonstrate how to cook up some mouthwatering asparagus-themed dishes. The “Midway of Fun” will offer thrills and excitement with an array of carnival rides and games, and the 7th annual San Joaquin Asparagus Festival Scholarship Pageant will welcome its participants to represent their community. Festival admission includes all main stage entertainment with musical acts including Mystic Vinyl, Steelglass, My Soul to Keep, The Blue Tones, and The King’s Men Elvis tribute band. Other acts include Discovery Martial Arts, Hmong Dance Group, and more.

Discount tickets to the San Joaquin Asparagus Festival are on sale now through Sunday, April 13 at all Save Mart and Lucky California stores. Tickets are priced at $12 for adults and $8 for military members, seniors, and children. Kids five years old or under are free to enter. Carnival wristbands are priced at $25.
