Superior Fresh Discusses Recent Sustainability Rebrand
HIXTON, WI - Sustainability is kind of our thing in the produce industry. For suppliers who rely so heavily on the land, ensuring the longevity of our planet is key. Superior Fresh recently set out to reinforce its dedication to the environment, launching new sustainable packaging. I recently had the chance to sit down with Peyton Rudy, Marketing and Brand Manager, to discuss what this revamp means to the company.
“We put a tremendous amount of effort into finding a packaging partner that aligns with our core values,” Peyton said. “Our new packaging is vibrant, informative, and, above all else, sustainable. It repurposes up to four post-consumer water bottles, with each package aiding in diverting landfill plastics. The new vibrant colors will bring a rainbow of choices for the consumer to get excited about, giving them even more reasons to try our products.”
First and foremost, Superior Fresh seeks to drive awareness and attention to the organic sector. The company believes in the organic process and the role it plays in safeguarding our planet. In expanding this sector, Superior Fresh continues to educate the consumer and change the food landscape for the better.
“We have a really strong brand message and want to share it. We are much more than a salad company, and with this revamp, you can clearly see it from across the aisle as we tell our sustainably superior story,” Peyton continued. “We want retailers and consumers to understand the value we have in our products. Sustainability is at the core of our values, and we are a company that is all about letting our actions speak for us.”
And speak for them they do. The benefits of this initiative are clear, with each clamshell representing up to 10 gallons of water saved when comparing Superior Fresh’s growing method with others. Furthermore, every clamshell reuses single-use (recycled) plastic. Repurposing these types of materials keeps water bottles and thermoforms out of landfills and helps our planet thrive.
“We recognize our obligation as fellow stewards of the planet to do better every day on behalf of future generations and the viability of the planet,” Peyton told me. “We are excited by our commitment and want to share our accomplishments with our customers because consumers tell us how powerful our story is and that it resonates with them on a personal level. When they learn of our land regeneration, water conservation, and commitment to the organic ecosystem, they are thrilled to be a part of the changes we are making. We see it as a partnership.”
