HOUSTON, TX - A round of applause is in order for one of Sysco’s distinguished leaders. Sheila G. Talton, Board Member and Chair of Sysco’s Technology Committee, is tacking on another title, as she has been named as one of 2021’s Most Influential Black Corporate Directors.

Chosen by Savoy magazine, a national publication that drives positive dialogue about Black culture, Talton was recognized for her part in enhancing Sysco’s ability to serve its customers through modern technology tools, data, and analytics, a press release stated.

Currently, Talton serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Gray Matter Analytics, a firm focused on data analytics consulting services in the healthcare industry.

“Sysco congratulates Sheila on receiving this distinguished honor,” Kevin Hourican, Sysco’s President and Chief Executive Officer, commented on Talton’s recent distinction. “Sheila is a progressive thinker who consistently drives our company to advance our capabilities, and we are grateful for the leadership, positive voice, and unique business perspective that she brings to our Board.”

In addition to Talton’s recent achievement, she was also a Congressional appointee to the U.S. White House Women’s Business Council. Talton has also been recognized as one of the “Top 10 Women in Technology” by Enterprising Women and as “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the National Federation of Black Women Business Owners.

She also serves on the Boards of several nonprofit organizations, including Chicago’s Northwest Hospital Foundation, the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and the Chicago Urban League.
