United Natural Foods, Inc. Reveals Third Quarter Fiscal 2022 Results; Sandy Douglas Discusses
PROVIDENCE, RI - Proving its business prowess and the strength of its company growth strategy, United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) ended the third quarter of fiscal 2022 with a bang. Reporting its financial results for the quarter, the distributor announced increased net sales of $7.2 billion amongst other key developments.
“Our third quarter performance further demonstrates UNFI’s agility and its focus on servicing customers despite a challenging operating environment. It’s apparent that our Fuel the Future strategy is working and beginning to benefit our customers,” said Chief Executive Officer, Sandy Douglas. “As we look toward a successful end to our fiscal year, we continue to make progress in simplifying our business and focusing resources on the most important areas that create value for our customers, suppliers, and shareholders.”
In addition to $7.2 billion in net sales, a 9.2 percent increase from third quarter fiscal 2021, other highlights from the recently released report include:
- Net income of $67 million, an increase of 39.6 percent
- Earnings per diluted share (EPS) of $1.10, an increase of 37.5 percent
- Adjusted EBITDA of $196 million, an increase of 5.9 percent
Due to these positive results, UNFI has updated its full-year outlook for net sales, net income, EPS, Adjusted EBITDA, and Adjusted EPS.
