Safeway Names Russ Jackson and Tom Moore to Post-Merger Denver Leadership Team

PLEASANTON, CA & BOISE, ID - Safeway has named the members of its post-merger leadership team for its Denver retail division. According to sources close to AndNowUKnow, two of these names have important ties to the fresh produce industry: Sales and Merchandising Manager Russ Jackson and Manager of Division Operations for Produce Tom Moore.
“I am pleased to make the following phase 3 leadership announcements for the Denver Division, including the operations and marketing leadership teams of the go-forward company,” shared Paul McTavish, President, Denver Division. “These appointments will become effective upon completion of the merger transaction, pending customary regulatory approvals.”
After 33 years of service to Albertsons over his career, Russ Jackson has been named Produce Sales Manager.
Similarly, Tom Moore has 16 years of experience with Safeway, having served most recently as Manager of Division Operations for Produce. Going forward, he will be serving the Denver Division as a District Manager.
The full list of newly promoted team members follows below:
Paul McTavish did take time to stress that, much like the Vons leadership team which AndNowUKnow announced earlier this week, these new positions are contingent on the approval of the Safeway/Albertsons merger by the FTC. Until the merger officially closes, the current retail division structure will remain in place.
Stay tuned to AndNowUKnow as we continue to track the latest developments concerning this impending merger.
