Longo's Expands Grocery Gateway Facility to Further Bolster Online Groceries

VAUGHAN, ONTARIO – To feed consumers’ growing appetite for online grocery delivery, Longo’s announced last week that the company is tripling the size of its Grocery Gateway facility. The expansion is intended to meet shoppers’ demand for fresh, high-quality produce and groceries deliver to their door.

Over the past two years, the site’s growth in both new shoppers and order sizes have increased rapidly, reaching double digit percentage growth since the relaunch of the Grocery Gateway site this June.

Longo’s Grocery Gateway facility currently stocks more than 10,000 grocery items. The facility’s expansion and renovation will allow the company to expand its inventory to roughly 16,000 items and continue to exceed consumers’ expectations in terms of quality and diversity of products. Expanded frozen, grocery, refrigerated items, and produce sections will offer consumers a wider range of fresh and local foods.
Grocery Gateway by Longo’s offers consumers the fresh food and grocery essentials Longo’s is known for delivered right to their door. The company claims online grocery delivery can save busy people an average of 1.5 hours each week, by eliminating the need to leave home, travel to the grocery store, park, shop, and return home.
The site currently offers 90-minute delivery windows for next-day delivery or, should customers prefer, any other day within a two-week period.
