Sprouts Farmers Market Sets Up First Store in Southern Florida
PHOENIX, AZ - The organic grocery specialists at Sprouts Farmers Market are introducing new stores in a new market this March. Sprouts has set its sights squarely on Publix and Southeastern Grocers territory, and will be opening three stores in South Florida beginning late this month.
According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Sprouts will host a grand opening for a new store in the Shoppes at Isla Verde—a shopping center in Wellington, Florida. The event will start at 7 a.m. on March 27, treating members of the public to a first-look at the 30,000-square-foot store.
Additionally, Sprouts is slated to open stores in nearby Miramar and Deerfield Beach—as well as stores in Jupiter, Jacksonville, Riverview, and Trinity. The retailer has yet to announce concrete open dates for these sites.
The Sun Sentinel also noted that Boulder, Colorado-based Lucky’s Market has also made efforts to expand into the South Florida market in recent months, and noted similarities between the two small format, fresh-focused stores.
