North Shore Greenhouses Announces Potted Herbs Category Growth
THERMAL, CA - Consumer behavior has changed drastically since the advent of COVID-19, and suppliers have ensured that retailers are prepared to meet these changes head on. North Shore Greenhouses and its full line of North Living Herbs + Greens recently reported that the herb category has seen surging sales during the holiday season.
“The whole North Shore team is proud of the products we produce, and that pride shows through in produce departments,” commented Tyler Clear, Sales Manager. “Home cooks can taste the difference as we continually push traditional herb category norms of freshness and flavor. We are honored to be leaders in the industry, and will continue innovating to make every home cooked meal a special occasion.”
According to a company press release, North Shore Culinary Grade Potted is one of the top fresh herb brands in North America, with a 34 percent leap in growth. Its Potted Basil product saw a growth rate of 39 percent.
North Shore noted that it is expecting these trends to continue through 2021 and is prepared to cater to a high demand for product.
“Consumers are more aware of their health and actively prioritizing it,” said Julie Buehler, Business Development Manager. “That is causing a shift in key drivers of purchase decisions for many categories, including herbs. Considering that, more cooking from home and the holidays, it’s an exciting time to be growing living herbs!”
More consumers are testing their hands at cooking, and herbs are one of the easiest ways to spice up home cooking. What other consumer behaviors will we see continuing over to 2021?
