Trinity Fruit Company Discusses Pomegranate and Stonefruit Programs
FRESNO, CA - The produce aisle abounds with yellow, orange, purple, and pink fruits, all of which hold the consumer’s attention and ensure repeat purchases. Trinity Fruit Company knows this well, having recently wrapped up its domestic pomegranate season and now kicking off its import program. As the company’s stonefruit season draws nearer, I had the chance to discuss these markets with Angela Hernandez, Director of Marketing.
“The market has been steady,” she told me as we dove in. “With COVID-19, we saw consumers shopping for more produce and using fruit as their resource for healthy snacking. We encourage buyers to hone in on this trend and position produce as not only a source for healthy snacking, but for natural vitamin intake.”
Trinity Fruit grows its product in the Central Valley of California. The company does a wide range of stonefruit varieties, as its focus is always the crop as a whole. Trinity’s stonefruit operations span across the apricot, peach, plum, and nectarine categories. The company also offers each category in organic varieties, allowing it to market to an array of shoppers.
Angela relayed that, besides it being a colder year, the weather in its growing region has not posed any challenges thus far.
“We’re very optimistic for this season. Weather permitting, the crop looks to be strong,” she continued. “We are always looking to increase our volumes as demand has been strong the past couple of years. With that said, we are hoping for a great stonefruit season!”
