“This product line has three flavors of fresh potatoes with a gourmet, healthy, and ready-to-serve sauce, all packed in an oven/grill-ready tray,” Jessica Hughes, Director of Innovation, told me. “And it’s the first product of its kind! Customers can cook this tasty dish without adding any additional ingredients, since it is ready to go. It is high in fiber and potassium, cholesterol-free, low in fat, and low in calories. Consumers are searching for products that are healthy, fresh, and convenient, all while maintaining flavor.”
The flavors offered are Jamaican Style Jerk, Zesty Lemon Herb, and Rosemary & Olive Oil. Jessica explained to me that all of the sauces were developed with clean ingredients, are gluten- and dairy-free, contain no artificial preservatives, and contain no refined sugar.
“All three flavors are sealed with a light-blocking film and wrapped with a sleeve that provides cooking instructions and nutritional information,” Jessica continued. “It is essential to ensure our potatoes are packed in a light-blocking package as it protects the potatoes from releasing a toxic chemical, called solanine, which alters taste and turns the potatoes green within 12–24 hours. This not only extends shelf-life and reduces food waste drastically, it ensures our customers are experiencing the best tasting dish possible.”
