Weis Markets Highlights Over 15 Table Grape Varieties With Great Grape Event; Kevin Weaver Comments
SUNBURY, PA - I’m not typically one to break out the puns, but there’s no avoiding it as Weis Markets takes hold of a grape merchandising opportunity. With its second annual Great Grape Event, the retailer will be drawing consumer attention to over 15 varieties of California- and American South-grown grapes.
“The typical American supermarket sells five varieties of grapes, but since it’s the best time of year for grapes, we have decided to offer our customers increased variety, including Sweet Sapphires, Razzles, Dazzles, and Scuppernongs,” said Kevin Weaver, Director of Produce. “These are some of the best grapes you never tasted.”
The program kicks off today, August 25, and runs through September, a press release states.
During the 2022 Great Grape Event, Weis Markets’ produce departments will be booming with popular grape varieties, including:
- Razzle Red Seedless grapes
- Dazzle Green Seedless grapes
- Kissy Pop grapes
- Candy Snap grapes
- Black Seedless grapes
- Concord grapes
- Red Globe grapes
- Muscadine/Scuppernong grapes
- Candy Heart grapes
- Candy Dream grapes
- Sweet Sapphire grapes
The company will also be meeting grape demand with organic red, green, and black seedless grapes, as well as a mixed bag of Razzle Red Seedless and Dazzle Green Seedless grapes.
