Fresh Produce & Floral Council Reflects on Successful Heist; Michael Schutt Details
PASADENA, CA - Ain’t no party like a Fresh Produce & Floral Council (FPFC) party! Recently, members were lucky to attend its Heist, Casino Night on Saturday, February 4, at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, California. Among those at the event were faces from Albertsons, Grocery Outlet, Stater Bros. Markets, and more.
“The FPFC’s Heist was an absolute success! Our purpose of the evening was to honor our history with our Past Chairs (Ocean’s 58) and look forward to the progress the FPFC is making toward the future,” said 2023 FPFC Chair, Michael Schutt. “We were happy to invite Jan DeLyser of the California Avocado Commission on stage to honor her contributions to the FPFC as a Past Chair and past staff member of the Council. We have an exciting year planned for our members, and this was just the start!”
The evening kicked off with a VIP reception for the FPFC Board of Directors, sponsors, planning committee, and retailers attending the event, a release explained. The general reception included a 360-degree photo booth and specialty drinks.
This event highlighted the incoming FPFC Board of Directors and thanked those who are retiring from the Board for their service. In honor of the celebration, the Dinner Dance Committee decided to do something different by incorporating the organization’s heritage, paying tribute to the past Chairs of the FPFC “Ocean’s 58.”
After the dinner concluded. Guests moved to the dance floor or to the Craps, Blackjack, and Texas Hold ’Em tables to enjoy the rest of the evening.
The FPFC event will be a Membership Luncheon that will host a special graduation for the 2022 FPFC Apprentice Class. It will take place at the Sheraton Cerritos on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
