United Natural Foods, Inc. Partners With RELEX Solutions to Enhance Capabilities; Erin Horvath and Frank Lord Discuss
PROVIDENCE, RI - Increased efficiency, bolstered supply chain capabilities, and in-depth demand analysis are all focuses of United Natural Foods, Inc.’s (UNFI) latest partnership. The distributor has aligned with RELEX Solutions, an innovator of unified supply chain and retail optimization solutions, to implement its cloud-based procurement solution and access its demand planning, ordering, and inventory management capabilities.

The new platform is expected to become operational at UNFI over the next 12–18 months. As noted in a press release, the system will consolidate and replace multiple UNFI buying systems and drive efficiencies in demand planning and replenishment. RELEX is expected to give UNFI a holistic view of its operations, including future capacity and supply constraints, and streamline its planning processes. The system will also consolidate multiple buying systems into one enhanced process, combining a more robust analysis of demand with a more granular approach to procurement.
The improved platform will help optimize inventory across all UNFI categories—including UNFI Fresh—reducing spoilage, improving service levels, and increasing data visibility between UNFI’s suppliers and customers.
