Coborn's President and COO Dave Meyer Announces Retirement; David Best to Take Over as Chief Operating Officer
ST. CLOUD, MN - Good morning, industry friends! On this fine Tuesday, we bring you news of an executive transition taking place within Coborn’s leadership structure. As of today, David Best has joined the team as Chief Operating Officer and Manager of the Board of Directors. He will also take over as President when Dave Meyer retires at the end of the year.
Best joins the Coborn’s team with over 20 years of industry experience at his back. Most recently, he served as the Vice President and General Manager, Omnichannel at General Mills. According to his LinkedIn, Best spent nearly four years in that role, responsible for leading and growing business capabilities for North America.
Prior to joining General Mills, Best worked at Target for over 12 years. There, he served in roles such as Senior Vice President, Merchandising/Merchandise Planning; Vice President and General Manager, New Store Formats; Senior Director, Dry Grocery/Dairy/Frozen Foods; among others.
According to WJON, Dave Meyer will be stepping down from his role as President and COO at the end of 2023.
Meyer first joined Coborn’s as an evening shift manager in 1985. Following those early days, he moved up the ranks to become Store Manager, Deli Buyer/Supervisor, District Manager, and VP of Operations. He has laid the groundwork for a successful leadership team, paving a new path forward for those who follow in his footsteps.
