Braga Fresh Introduces Three New Positions to Support Growth; Colby Pereira and Peter Cling Comment
SOLEDAD, CA - Braga Fresh, home of Josie’s Organics, is expanding its leadership team. The grower announced the creation of three new positions to support multiple company departments and business growth, with Brenna Flynn, Shannon Yamada, and Casey Mills taking up new posts.
As the new Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance, Flynn joins Braga Fresh with experience from Watsonville Produce, Blue Ribbon Frozen Foods, and Muzzi Family Farms where she was Food Safety Director. Prior to that, she was a Food Technologist at Refine US.
Flynn holds a Master of Science in food microbiology from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in food science and nutrition, with a food science option from California State University, Fresno.
She will be reporting to Richard Warsaw, Vice President of Food Safety and Quality Assurance.
Joining Flynn as a new Director is Shannon Yamada.
Yamada is the new Senior Director of Product Development. She brings 20 years of consumer products marketing experience including brand management, new product development, market research, financial and business analysis, consumer advertising, and promotion management at companies such as Dole Fresh Vegetables, Naturipe Farms, and Oberto Sausage Company.
As noted in the release, she holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. She will be reporting to Kori Tuggle, Vice President of Marketing and Product Development.
Rounding up the list is Mills, who has been with the company for six years and is being promoted to a new position as Director of Commodity Management. In his new role, Mills will work in conjunction with the sales, cooling, and harvest teams to ensure inventories are fresh and properly maintained to ensure the highest quality produce.
Mills will also set the daily open market pricing for each commodity and make sure the company's harvest schedule matches demand. He will be reporting to General Manager Pete Cling.
“Casey is adept at following the markets closely but also anticipating changing markets while staying ahead of the curve,” Cling said in regards to Mills' lates role with Braga Fresh.
