Susan McLaughlin Details Baloian Farms’ Expansions and Seasonal Offerings at IFPA
FRESNO, CA - Squash, cukes, and peppers, oh my! A bounty of fall faves and developments are coming through from Baloian Farms, and the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) is a worthwhile trip to make to see the grower in person. Susan McLaughlin, Marketing Coordinator, was just as eager to share what the company has in store for the Global Produce & Floral Show (GPFS) 2023.
“Our big focus is on our bell peppers, green, red, and yellow,” begins Susan. “The team is excited to highlight our popular mini sweet peppers at GPFS this year along with our green, red, and yellow pepper bulk packaging brands Pam Pak and Marty Boy. We also supply a large volume of value-added and custom packages for retailers and foodservice.”
Baloian Farms is a year-round supplier of bell peppers as well as other fresh vegetables such as squash, cucumbers, and chilis. Rounding out these in-demand categories is the grower’s wet vegetable program. Seasonal items such as Romaine, cauliflower, leaf lettuce, spinach, Napa, and bok choy are already in the ground and nearing harvest as we get into the fall season.
“The start of our program from Fresno is always highly anticipated by our customers. They’ve been eagerly waiting for us to start back up since we finished our spring plantings in April,” explains Susan. “In addition to what we are doing in California, we are working to expand our Nogales, Arizona, and Mexico growing operations to better serve our customers.”
Maintaining the Nogales and Mexico operations helps Baloian Farms provide continuity of supplies year-round. The Nogales office specializes in quality control, warehouse management, transportation, and serves as a vital hub for receiving and shipping products grown in Mexico to its distribution centers in California.
With all the developments Baloian Farms is making to meet customer needs, being able to meet them in person at GPFS is a definite boon for the grower.
“We look forward to connecting with other industry professionals. As seasoned growers, packers, and shippers, we have products, programs, and services we are excited to share with attendees,” expresses Susan. “The IFPA show is important because it is the largest show of the year. We will be exhibiting alongside produce companies from around the globe. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet up with our industry friends and customers and forge new alliances.”
