CENTENNIAL, CO - Verdant Technologies’ latest move to revolutionize the ag supply chain with solutions that extend the life and quality of perishable products comes in the form of a cutting-edge new facility. The industry innovator has announced the opening of a state-of-the-art research laboratory in Centennial, Colorado, unveiling the Verdant Innovation Lab.

The research lab contains cold storage rooms capable of simulating diverse environments, which will enable Verdant to mimic real-world conditions and determine optimal temperature thresholds for different produce varieties, a press release detailed.
Through this expansion, Verdant will be able to deliver quicker results, expedite the testing of various crops, and explore new application methods for its solutions, including new product innovations.

Central to the laboratory’s capabilities is its state-of-the-art gas analytics infrastructure. By precisely analyzing gases, including the critical ethylene gas, the company aims to optimize its revolutionary technology, including 1-MCP applications like HarvestHold®, and effectively combat food waste within the agricultural supply chain, the release continued.
The lab also features an array of specialized equipment, including a penetrometer, titrator, refractometer, Minolta colorimeter, and a gas chromatograph, which will enable Verdant to comprehensively analyze factors affecting produce quality, such as firmness, acidity, sugar content, and color.
