SUNBURY, PA - Now is the time for celebrating new beginnings, especially for Weis Markets. Last week, the retailer held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the construction of its new Lake Linganore, Maryland, store. This will be Weis’ first new construction project since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

“We are grateful to Lake Linganore for welcoming us to the community and showing enthusiastic support for our first new construction store in more than four years,” said Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President Jonathan Weis. “We are committed to providing our Lake Linganore customers with an enjoyable and convenient shopping experience for many years to come.”

This will be the company’s 50^th location in Maryland and seventh location in Frederick County, featuring the latest in innovative store design, a press release stated. Store features will include expansive fresh departments, a grocery department with excellent variety, and much more.

The store is expected to be completed in early 2025 and will bring approximately 150 new jobs to the area.
