2022 Organic Produce Summit On Track for Record Retail Attendance; Matt Seeley Discusses
MONTEREY, CA - One hundred and fifty-four organic companies—growers, shippers, and processors—are gathering their premium offerings and innovations in preparation for one of the most coveted tradeshows in our industry next month. With one in five attendees being a retailer, it will be a hot crowd gathering in Monterey, California, as the Organic Produce Summit looks to both anticipate and help forge the future of the segment from July 13–14, 2022.
“We are still a month out from the show and can report the largest retailer attendance we have ever had at OPS at 280-plus already confirmed. Following the current trajectory, we are set to go over 300,” Matt Seeley, Chief Executive Officer for the Organic Produce Summit, says, adding these are just the brick-and-mortar members of the buy-side, not including wholesale and others that make up this segment of our industry. “We are proud to offer such a strong ratio for exhibitors and sponsors. And, for retailers, the landscape has changed over the last two years. OPS offers the opportunity to connect and discuss what organic options are available now and what the future of this industry looks like in the production and selling of organic produce.”
This ties directly to another key point of pride for the summit: a valuable schedule for all.
“We are incredibly proud of the educational program, which differentiates the quality of our schedule. The willingness of retailers to discuss the progress and future can’t be understated. Retailers are responsible for that last mile of the produce journey, and sharing that strategy with the supply-side is of huge value to both,” Matt shares.
Albertsons, Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, Walmart, Meijer, and more will be there to witness dynamic and engaging educational programs tackling topics like regenerative ag, private label, and more, with information, education, and networking brought to the forefront.
