Benny's Returns to the Rhode Island Market
RICHMOND, RI - Grocery stores are dear to our hearts; you mourn their passing when they change location or—the more dreaded option—when they shut down. For certain shoppers in Southern New England, they can celebrate the return of beloved chain, Benny’s, which is coming back to life under a new banner: Benny’s Fresh Market.
According to a Facebook post, the retailer asked if shoppers were curious about its new name before moving on to its explanation for the change.
“Although we do not have affiliation and are not owned by the original Benny’s, it fills us with nostalgia to be able to honor such an iconic piece of Rhode Island history,” the Facebook post read. “Don’t worry though, Benny’s Fresh Market has legally obtained the rights to our name and logo.”
No formal opening date has been announced, only a teaser that the store will soon open in Richmond.
The retailer will be offering farm-fresh fruits and veggies from the finest growing areas across the states, in addition to local New England family farms.
“We source unique and different food products from around the world to offer our customers at amazing prices,” another post on the company’s Facebook page stated. “At Benny’s Fresh Market we really love food and we think it shows. We’re going to change the way you grocery shop!”
How will this revival of sorts be received by shoppers? AndNowUKnow will report the latest.
