Highline Mushrooms Rolls Out Clear Tills; Jose Cambon Comments

LEAMINGTON, ON - The future for Highline Mushrooms is clear, literally. With sustainability top of mind, the mushroom provider is rolling out its new clear PET tills, which it will be showcasing at the 2023 International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) Global Produce & Floral Show (GPFS).

Jose Cambon, Chief Executive Officer, Highline Mushrooms“This significant step toward sustainability wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our incredible associates. I am immensely proud of their unwavering commitment to our vision and their tireless efforts behind the scenes to make this transition a reality,” commented Jose Cambon, Chief Executive Officer.

The PET tills are 100 percent recyclable, resulting in a circular economy of closed-loop recycling, reduction of the company’s carbon footprint, and moving toward reducing virgin materials, a release explained.

Supporting its sustainability efforts, Highline Mushrooms is rolling out its new 100 percent recyclable clear PET tills

Clear tills of mushrooms will be packed on Highline farms across Canada this week under the Highline brand and will be on retail shelves in the coming days. With this packaging, consumers will have full visibility of the mushrooms in the pack and will see the quality.

Utilizing sustainable packaging is another chapter in Highline’s mushroom sustainability story. Currently, the company uses agricultural by-products and only 6 liters of water per pound to grow, producing 3 million lbs of mushrooms per acre/per annum. Its goal is to increase mushroom consumption across North America and deliver hyper-freshness to shoppers for every eating occasion.
