CINCINNATI, OH - Seeming to defy the laws of physics, Kroger has announced the official opening of two new spoke facilities, this time in the Greater Nashville, Tennessee, region and the Chicago, Illinois, Metro Area. With the opening of these facilities, the retailer will also begin offering Kroger Delivery to more shoppers across each state.

Bill Bennett, Vice President and Head of E-Commerce, Kroger"Kroger Delivery promises an unparalleled shopping and delivery experience, making fresh just one click away at Kroger.com or the Kroger app," said Bill Bennett, Kroger Vice President and Head of E-Commerce. "From personalized digital offers to our white glove delivery service, the Kroger seamless ecosystem saves time and money. The new Nashville, Tennessee, facility sits at 40,000 square feet and will work in tandem with the grocer’s Atlanta, Georgia, fulfillment center, according to a release. This will increase the network’s reach to consumers up to 200 miles from the hub and it will employ over 180 associates to operate the facility.

Kroger’s other new facility is located approximately 20 miles west of Chicago in Maywood, Illinois, and is nearly 80,000 square feet. This operation will work with the company’s fulfillment center in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, to fill orders, and it, too, will employ more than 180 associates.

This recent expansion extends Kroger’s partnership with Ocado Group, a collaboration that has been in effect since 2018.

Gabriel Arreaga, Senior Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer, Kroger"The continued expansion of the Kroger fulfillment network means improved access to fresh food for customers eager for the variety and value offered by Kroger that once could only be accessed through our stores," said Gabriel Arreaga, Kroger's Senior Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer.
