Mastronardi Produce® Wins for Best in Class Packaging Design at 2023 PAC Global Awards; Paul Mastronardi Details



KINGSVILLE, ONTARIO, CANADA - Celebration is in order! Mastronardi Produce® recently took home wins for excellence in package design and innovation at the PAC Global Awards. The greenhouse grower’s marketing team took home the Best in Class award for its Queen of Greens® lettuce brand in the New Brand category and for its SUNSET® Wild Wonders® Harvest Medley™ in the Specialty category (Limited Edition/Seasonal).

Since its first entry in 2013, a press release explained, Mastronardi Produce has won 12 PAC Global Awards for the unique packaging designs and product branding it releases each year.

Mastronardi Produce® won the Best in Class award for its Queen of Greens™ lettuce brand in the New Brand category

The launch of the Queen of Greens brand came in 2022, and the retail world welcomed these greenhouse-grown lettuce blends noted for flavor and an extended shelf-life. The packaging design features a powerful female icon—Mastronardi Produce likes to think of her as Mother Nature’s wild sister. With a bold and colorful brand design, the package jumps out in the leafy greens section with a robust, six-SKU lineup.

Convenient, resealable top seal packaging rounds out the design and communicates the benefits of the brand: locally grown, washed and ready to eat, without GMOs, pesticides, or herbicides.

To dive further into the winning Harvest Medley packaging, the design team leveraged the SUNSET Wild Wonders brand—a leader in the mixed medley tomato segment, as the company noted—to provide a special fall-themed seasonal offering.

Wild Wonders offers a colorful array of gourmet snacking tomatoes from around the world, and has a discovery and travel theme to match. It also reflects the exclusive varieties found inside each package, and a leaf-shaped top seal clam highlights the fall design and stands out on the shelf.
