McDonald's Australia's New Gourmet Breakfast Menu Features Produce
AUSTRALIA - McDonald’s Australia has turned out a few new breakfast items for an introductory Gourmet Breakfast Menu, with produce receiving a notable place on the plate.
According to a 9 News report, the fast food chain’s Australia menu launched several new breakfast items in some areas of the country, with a trial all-day breakfast in others as it continues its campaign to further itself from its association with unhealthy food. The new gourmet breakfast options embrace items like avocado toast, spinach on a number of dishes, berries, and tomatoes.
Some of the new produce-incorporated items include:
- Belgian Waffles drizzled with yogurt and fruit, like assorted berries.
- Corn Fritters with avocado, grilled tomatoes, crumbled feta cheese, tomato relish and spinach.
- The Avocado Smash with crumbled feta, with a bacon and egg roll on a brioche bun
- The Cafe Breakfast of sourdough toast, chipolata sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, wilted spinach, grilled tomatoes, hash browns and tomato relish.
According to 9 News, this tester menu was launched just south of Sydney in the Illawarra region, now available in the Gold Coast and Melbourne’s outer-north region. While it is not yet determined when the entire country will see this or, more importantly for us, when North America will, the Eater notes that it would not be the first time the chain tested new ideas in other regions.
With any luck this will demonstrate enough success for McDonald's to make a bigger produce push closer to home.
