VENTURA, CA - Every person working within the fresh produce supply chain is doing so with the purpose of bringing healthy foods to American households. In this endeavor, the importance of our agriculture workers cannot be overstated. Many companies have rallied on their behalf in order to make sure that they’re safe in the fields, packing houses, and assembly lines. One such company is Mission Produce. The avocado provider recently hosted an on-site vaccination event at one of its Oxnard pack houses and 262 Mission employees received their first dose.

“We provided on-site vaccinations as soon as the vaccine was available to us. Preventing virus spread has been of utmost concern at Mission Produce to keep people safe and healthy. Taking the step to become vaccinated as a company shows our commitment to beating the pandemic together,” remarked Steve Barnard, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, in an exclusive statement to AndNowUKnow.

In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within its operations, Mission proudly took this first step to protect its dedicated employees.

The company noted that it is committed to providing a safe and abundant food supply to both local communities and the world.

“During orientation, I told our people I would be the first in line, which I was. I’m proud of the commitment from the entire management team to receive the vaccine, and the amazing turnout from the rest of the company. We look forward to the enhanced ability the vaccine gives Mission and its people to move forward and out of this pandemic,” commented Mike Browne, Chief Operating Officer.
