Performance Food Group Plans Additions for Georgia Food Distribution Facility
RICHMOND, VA - Performance Food Group, Inc. (PFG) is expanding its production capabilities in Georgia with newly-released plans for additions to its current distribution facility.
“We’re excited about our future prospects and looking forward to continuing growth,” Danny Berry, Regional President, Performance Foodservice ‒ Milton’s, said in a press release. “We live and work in a great area and remain committed to growing our business in Georgia and the surrounding states.”
The company currently plans to add a new 174,000-square foot building to its current facility, which will be built on an adjacent, 43-acre property. The new building will include:
- Freezer
- Meat cutting operation
- Maintenance areas
- Space for fleet operations
- Conversion of the existing freezer into a three-zone cooler section
This new plan is to accommodate Milton’s growth, according to President & CEO of PFG’s Performance Foodservice business segment Dave Flitman.
“We are proud of our Milton’s team, which has done a great job growing their customer base with both multi-unit and independent restaurants over the past several years,” Flitman stated in the release. “This expansion will enable them to continue to grow well into the future.”
Performance Foodservice ‒ Milton’s has a wide customer base primarily across Georgia, Alabama, North and South Carolina. This includes:
- Local and multi-chain restaurants
- Country clubs
- Daycare centers
- Hospitals
- Schools
- Nursing homes
- Correctional facilities
Though the groundbreaking ceremony took place yesterday, August 6th, the facility is not expected to be completed and operational until some time in 2016.
