WEST SACRAMENTO, CA - New company milestones are always impressive, but when they involve giving back to the community, we here at AndNowUKnow can’t help but smile. Raley’s announced today that its Raley’s Food For Families Annual Holiday Drive raised over $3 million throughout the 2020 holiday season, making it the largest amount ever donated by the organization since it started hosting the event 35 years ago.

Becca Whitman, Executive Director, Raley’s Food For Families“The generosity we have seen this past year within the communities we serve is incredible,” said Becca Whitman, Executive Director of Raley’s Food For Families. “It is no secret that 2020 was an especially difficult year, so we cannot thank our customers enough for their outpouring of support to help their neighbors in need during even the toughest of times. They are the ones who truly deserve the recognition.”

Donations were collected between November 2 and December 31 from customers in-store and online. According to a press release, the money will help provide more than three million meals to those in Northern California and Nevada who are suffering from food insecurity.

Raley’s Food For Families partners with 12 regional food banks across the retailer’s store regions in Northern California and Nevada. With an increase of 95 percent in those using these food banks’ services, 2020 proved to be an especially important year for the organization to raise money.

Although the Annual Holiday Drive has come to a close, Raley’s continues to accept donations year-round at all store locations and online. All donations help serve local communities and the food banks that serve them.

We would like to thank Raley’s for its continued work to serve its communities when they need it most.
