GRAND RAPIDS, MI - In March of 2021, we reported on multiple executive appointments made by SpartanNash, one of which was promoting Todd Riksen as Vice President and Corporate Controller. Now, this tenured executive has been promoted once more, as SpartanNash recently named him as the new Vice President, Corporate Controller, and Principal Accounting Officer.

Riksen joined SpartanNash in April 2018 as Director of Financial Reporting and Corporate Accounting and was named to his most recent role in March 2021. Prior to SpartanNash, he spent nearly 12 years in the assurance practice at EY, according to a press release. Riksen is also a graduate of Hope College.

In this new role, Riksen oversees all company accounting functions and reports to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Jason Monaco.

Monaco commented on the recent executive appointment in a company press release.

"Todd has provided incredible leadership to our Finance organization as we navigated a companywide turnaround these past couple of years," Monaco said. "He and his team will continue to provide best-in-class accounting support as the Company makes progress toward our long-term goals. As part of our People First culture, we are proud to promote from within to fill this critical role."
