Target Welcomes Gemma Kubat Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Engineering & Activation
MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Gemma Kubat is jumping into a new role at Target. She has been named Senior Vice President of the Supply Chain Engineering and Activation, effective August 6. In her new role, Kubat will lead design, activation, and ongoing management of assets that establish Target’s global supply chain and logistics network. Kobat will now report to Arthur Valdez Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer.
“Success in today’s retail environment requires a supply chain that’s both cost effective and nimble to provide a convenient shopping experience,” Kubat said. “I’m excited to join the Target team and be a part of its differentiated approach that is leading the industry in fulfillment options for guests.”
In her previous positions, Kobat gained experience working in human resources, finance, innovation, strategy, and logistics. She previously held the title of Vice President, Global Business Services for Walmart. Before that, she worked at Britain-based Asda.
According to a press release, Target’s strategy to leverage its 1,800+ stores involves changing its supply chain and logistics capabilities. The work it has done enables guests to enjoy free two-day shipping nationwide, same-day delivery shopped with Shipt in 150 markets, and its recently developed Drive Up services.
“We’re bringing together stores, digital channels, technology, and supply chain to make shopping at Target even easier and more convenient,” Valdez said. “Gemma’s talent for applying advanced solutions across large organizations is exactly the right fit for Target as we continue transforming our supply chain to meet the needs of our guests.”
Congratulations to Gemma Kubat and the entire Target team!
