US Foods Planning $20M Distribution Center in Fishers, Indiana

FISHERS, IN - Taking its growth strategy up a notch, US Foods has unveiled new plans for a $20 million expansion of its Fishers, Indiana distribution center. Earlier this week, the company put in a request to the Fishers Plan Commission to rezone 20 acres of land east of its already established distribution facility in a bid to widen its footprint in the area.

US Foods has received a positive recommendation from the commission, according to an article from the Indiana Business Journal, which allows the change of zoning from residential to agricultural. The change will allow the distributor to add 69,000 square feet to its already 230,000-square-foot facility, which will take place over the next three to five years. The company is making the request now due to the recent availability of the land. Without the property, US Foods would have to relocate the plant.
