Bobalu Shares Weekly Crop Update
CALIFORNIA & MEXICO - Strawberries and sunshine are in the forecast for eager shoppers and consumers as Bobalu releases its latest updates across California and Mexico.
In Oxnard, California, Bobalu is enjoying some sunshine and cold nighttime temperatures, which allows the fruit to come through albeit a bit slower than the grower would like. There is rain in the forecast for the end of the week, but fruit size and flavor are excellent with healthy-looking plants as we get closer to spring.
Crops in Santa Maria, California, are still catching up and are “running up to four weeks behind schedule due to the early storms, and continued cool weather,” the company wrote. Rain is also forecasted for Santa Maria at the end of the week, “so we will be focused on keeping the fields clean with proper drainage to stay on track.”
Thankfully, no rains are on the horizon for Coachella, California, fields, so the “forecasted volume should not be impacted by the weather headed to Southern California next week,” Bobalu continued.
With the program picking up along California fields over the next few weeks, Bobalu noted it will be slowing down its Mexican program.
ANUK will keep an eye on the updates across the industry, so check back in for the latest.
