D'Arrigo New York Partners With Brighter Bites; Gabriela D'Arrigo and Shey Hall Comment
NEW YORK - When dedicated minds come together to support a cause, great things can be achieved. That is exactly what is happening as D’Arrigo New York has announced its partnership with Brighter Bites, through which it will donate fruits and vegetables to school kids and families in the Bronx.
"I am in such awe of what Brighter Bites has been able to accomplish,” said Gabriela D’Arrigo, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for D'Arrigo New York. “This has been the only organization I have seen that has had both the vision as well as the ability to execute and deliver.”
Throughout the 2022/2023 school year, D’Arrigo New York will donate pallets of fresh produce to PS 48X, a Brighter Bites-supported school, weekly. According to a release, the company will also provide 250 fresh produce bags to the school’s families as well.
This is one of four school programs in the Bronx neighborhood, the fourth borough that Brighter Bites NYC serves, with more schools in the area to come.
In addition to donating produce, D’Arrigo New York advocates for the nonprofit’s work and mission with consistent involvement in fresh produce industry networking events. With this support, Brighter Bites has been able to form connections with key members of the industry, thereby growing its program base.
“We are thrilled to partner with D'Arrigo, a company with deep roots in the community where we serve in New York City,” said Shey Hall, Northeast Regional Director at Brighter Bites. “This opportunity truly symbolizes Brighter Bites’ commitment to not only serving its program families but its partners as well!”
Since its launch in 2012, Brighter Bites has distributed over 50 million pounds of produce and hundreds of thousands of nutrition education materials to more than 500,000 individuals through schools, after-school programs, and summer camps.
