Del Monte Fresh Produce Opens State of the Art Distribution Facility in Houston
CORAL GABLES, FL – Looking to further expand its capabilities in Texas, Del Monte Fresh Produce has announced the opening of a new, state-of-the-art distribution and processing center in Houston.
“Our new Facility includes state-of- the art ripening rooms, multi-temperature storage areas and value-added services, such as fruit and vegetable processing capabilities, protein production, Direct Store Delivery (DSD), customized packing and sorting, and Just-in-Time (JIT) delivery, and is a testament to our continued commitment to unparalleled service for our retail partners and consumers,” said Dennis Christou, Vice President of Marketing, North America, in a Del Monte Fresh Produce press release.
According to the company, the new 96,285-square-foot facility—sitting atop 8.5 acres, is Del Monte Fresh Produce’s 24th distribution, processing, and repacking operation in North America. The addition of this new facility gives the company four facilities in Texas alone and will, the company notes, help Del Monte Fresh Produce better serve its customers throughout the continent.
Del Monte Fresh Produce has introduced a number of new products throughout the year—including a Smoothie Kit and Vegetable Noodle line.
