Duda Farm Fresh Foods Announces Weather and Crop Updates
OXNARD, CA - With growing operations on the East and West Coasts, Duda Farm Fresh Foods is running the gamut of weather conditions this winter. As rain pelts California and moderate temperatures grace its Florida growing region, the supplier shared a key seasonal update.
On the West Coast, Duda noted that Iceberg lettuce, Romaine, Romaine hearts, and green and red leaf lettuce markets were adjusting as additional growing regions head into full production. According to the email release, broccoli and cauliflower production has also started to increase in the Yuma, Arizona, region, with heavy supplies anticipated in the next several weeks.
As Florida experiences moderate temperatures ranging from the mid to high 60s, with a low chance of precipitation, Duda is kicking off its Belle Glade celery harvest. On the East Coast, the radish market is stable, with excellent product grade.
Additionally, as on the West Coast, Romaine, Romaine hearts, and red and green leaf lettuce volumes are rising as the program moves into January. The grower’s corn market, however, is experiencing lower volumes over the past week, but it remains steady.
