The Fresh Market Introduces New Offerings for National Organic Month
GREENSBORO, NC - For some of us, September marks the start of the fall season. In this industry, we have even more to celebrate because it is also National Organic Month! Retailers can celebrate the occasion by highlighting organic products across the store, and The Fresh Market is doing just that.
The retailer has chosen 10 food products that are all USDA certified organic, which began rolling out in stores on September 1 and will continue throughout the month. Of course, the stores carry a wide variety of organic products year-round, but some on this list are only available for a limited time. The organic fresh produce items that made the list are organic wine grapes and organic Honeycrisp apples.
While typically grown in the regions in Europe where they are used in wine, The Fresh Market’s newly added organic wine grapes are grown in small batches in California. Anticipated to sell out by mid- to late-September, these grapes can be juiced, paired with charcuterie and cheese boards, or eaten on their own. Varieties include Grenache, Columbard, and Carignane.
According to a press release, September also kicks off the peak season for organic Honeycrisp apples from Washington, where the state's arid climate and ideal temperatures make for growing the perfect organic apples.

Cheers to National Organic Month! We love seeing retailers calling out this broad category and engaging consumers in this way.
