IRELAND - The importance of marketing becomes more apparent every day, and companies are taking note of this division’s strategic value by naming new heads to lead the charge. With this in mind, Fyffes recently announced the appointment of Áine McElroy as Marketing Executive.

In her new role with the banana distributor, McElroy will bear the responsibility for the coordination of marketing activities for bananas and pineapples. She will be responsible for her duties in the company’s home-base in Ireland.

According to a release, she joins Fyffes from the FMCG sector, which is where she acquired experience in brand marketing, social media, sponsorship, and exhibition management.

McElroy is a graduate in radio and television broadcasting studies from the Technological University Dublin.

“The experience and skills which Áine brings to our operation will really enhance our marketing team, coinciding as it does with a period of investment for the company in Ireland, manifested in the recent development and opening of a new €25 million banana ripening center opened in Balbriggan,” commented Head of Marketing Emma Hunt-Duffy.
