Gold Coast Packing's Crystal Chavez Discusses Robust Foodservice Program and Customization
SANTA MARIA, CA - “Providing the most innovative value-added items is what Gold Coast Packing is known for.”
Crystal Chavez imparted this to me as we sat down to discuss Gold Coast’s robust foodservice program. The Marketing Coordinator pulled back the curtain on this premium supplier’s prowess, sharing exactly what sets the brand apart.
“Our business is predominately fresh-cut, value-added foodservice items, and we specialize in broccoli and cauliflower florets, spinach, and cilantro,” she began. “All of our products are offered in a variety of pack sizes, making it easy for foodservice distributors to find the best product for them and their customers.”
Gold Coast prides itself on putting its customers first. Crystal explained that as a smaller processor, it is important that Gold Coast has the ability to customize to fit its customer’s needs. In fact, this is one of the most enjoyable parts of the job for the Gold Coast team.
“What sets us apart from other suppliers is that we have a Product Development and Innovation team. Our team is always working with our customers to customize and create items that fit their needs,” Crystal told me. “We are also always looking at current food trends and upcoming flavor profiles to create items that will spark curiosity and promote more veggie-conscious and health-focused consumers.”
But, the benefits of partnering with this supplier do not stop there.
“Because our items are all value-added, they are ready to use right out of the package. This reduces washing, chopping, and prep time in the back of the house,” Crystal said. “Many foodservice operators have been plagued with labor issues since the pandemic began. Having labor-saving options like our value-added veggies available saves operators time and money.”
On a final note, Crystal teased that there are some great new items in the Gold Coast pipeline set to be released later this year. You can bet that ANUK will be here to report as soon as we hear more.
