Grimmway Farms Appoints John Liu as Vice President of Food Safety; Jeff Huckaby Comments
BAKERSFIELD, CA - An important element of our industry is food safety, and companies know to put their best foot forward in this channel. Grimmway Farms is ensuring continued excellence in this arena by appointing John Liu as Vice President of Food Safety.

Liu joins the company with over 27 years of food safety experience and a proven record as a senior food safety leader. In his new role, Liu will be responsible for the development, oversight, implementation, and management of all facilities and farming food safety programs and compliance.
In addition, he will work closely with the company’s quality assurance and food safety teams to ensure that Grimmway continues to meet the highest quality and food safety standards.
“John’s years of experience stewarding impactful food safety programs, operations, and regulatory compliance will be a great asset to Grimmway,” added Jeff Huckaby, Chief Executive Officer. “As a leader in food safety, Grimmway is excited to welcome John’s expertise to the team.”
Prior to joining the Grimmway team, Liu held a senior position with Fresh Del Monte Produce, where he was responsible for leading global food safety strategy, operations, and programs throughout the world. He also worked as a Food Scientist for Giorgio Foods earlier in his career.
Liu holds a Ph.D. in Food Science and Horticulture from Louisiana State University, as well as both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Horticulture from the Hunan Agricultural University.
