Proseal Continues its Commitment to Customers Amidst COVID-19 Outbreak
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA - Our industry’s strategies do not look the same as they did a couple of months ago, and one of the most recent developments includes packaging. Now, fresh food purveyors are using strategic packaging designs to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Proseal, a tray sealing equipment company, is continuously seeking out new partners in order to bring its safety-forward packaging to the forefront.
With the emphasis on food safety heightened to protect consumers, tray sealing’s top seal technology provides secure and food-safe packaging by replacing the traditional clamshell style lid with a thin film lid that seals to the edge of the package. This type of packaging not only better protects produce and prepared products throughout each phase of the supply chain, but also creates a tamper-evident package, making it easy for consumers to detect if the package has been tampered with or opened.
According to a press release, tray sealing also allows for Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) which can extend the shelf life of a product for up to 14 days before spoiling. This allows retailers to cut down on food waste while still providing fresh products for those that need them.
Proseal’s manufacturing operation, located in Richmond, Virginia, is continuing to manufacture its tray sealing machinery with no down time. The facility can manufacture tool sets and spare parts to accompany the existing machinery and is able to ship to anywhere in North America.
