Sunions® Return to Grocery Store Shelves

PARMA, ID - The return of a valued variety has once again graced our produce aisles. Sunions® entered grocery stores this past November, and your shoppers will be strolling through the aisles with a smile where there could have been a tear.

Chopping onions for a favorite recipe should be an enjoyable experience, and that’s where Sunions step in to save the day. The sweet onion is a favorite for consumers as it doesn’t bring tears when it’s cut—a definite plus if your shoppers’ kitchens go through many onions.

Using an all-natural crossbreeding program, Sunions are domestically grown in Nevada, Utah, and Washington. Before they are shipped to grocery stores, they undergo a storage period to ensure they are tearless, sweet, and crunchy.

Sunions have an incredible flavor profile that adds that perfect snap when served raw on salads and sandwiches. This special onion came to be through decades of development, careful farming, and hard work.
