Western Growers' Dave Puglia Comments on State Water Resources Control Board Draft Report on Bay-Delta Watershed Plan

IRVINE, CA - Water conservation in The Golden State continues to be a central topic of discussion. The State Water Resources Control Board recently released a draft staff report updating the Sacramento/Delta portion of the Bay-Delta Plan. Western Growers President and Chief Executive Officer Dave Puglia weighed in on the announcement.

Dave Puglia, President and Chief Executive Officer, Western Growers"California growers can no longer afford to be subjected to short-sighted water policies that are not based in science or economic reality. As such, Western Growers is pleased that the Voluntary Agreement/Healthy Rivers Alternative approach is included in the draft, as it is the best pathway to protect agriculture and rural regions, the environment, and urban economies," Puglia stated in a press release.

In the draft staff report, the State Water Resources Control Board detailed an environmental analysis that included agricultural and forest resources, air quality, and more. The report also explores biological resources in terms of both the terrestrial and aquatic resources.
