Wish Farms Marks New Opportunities in "Superhero Summer" Themed Feeding America Partnership
PLANT CITY, FL - Wish Farms and Feeding America are reigniting their partnership in time to introduce a strong summer campaign in a fashion that the international grower and year-round marketer of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries said marks a new opportunity to engage berry consumers nationwide.
“As a grower of fresh berries, we feel a sense of responsibility to help families who are struggling with food insecurity,” Amber Maloney, Director of Marketing, commented. “This is an exciting campaign, not only because we are raising awareness of the issue on a national level, but because it allows each person to do some good—they are making a positive impact on their community.”
It will be a “Superhero Summer,” the dynamic duo said in a press release, serving as a spin-off from a video campaign last winter in which Wish Farms recognized growers with the slogan: “Farmers: Real-Life Superheroes. Saving the World by Feeding the World.”
“Wish Farms has been a tremendous year-round partner to our network of 12 food banks and we are thrilled to be partnering with them for this summer campaign,” said Robin Safley, Executive Director of Feeding Florida, a partner state association of Feeding America. “Our agricultural partners help us make a difference by donating wholesome produce to distribute to the 2.8 million Floridians who need it most.”
Wish Farms plans to further contribute to that difference, pledging that for each Instagram engagement—a like, tag, and follow—on the campaign posts, Wish Farms will donate a meal ($1 helps provide at least 10 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks) to families in need.
“One in eight people face hunger in America, including more than 12 million children. Feeding America is thankful to Wish Farms for their commitment to fighting hunger,” said Nancy Curby, Senior VP of Corporate Partnerships at Feeding America.
The posts, running from June 12th through August 12th, will feature Graphic Interchange Format (GIFs) of Wish Farms’ growers in various comedic superhero poses. We’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for this and other summer moves looking to boost fruit and vegetable consumption in the U.S. and beyond.
