Our Favorite Dishes Face Off for this St. Patrick's Day Starch Madness Bracket
It's that time again: when all your local bars are packed to the brim with college basketball and green-clad Ireland enthusiasts alike. With all this to celebrate at once, AndNowUKnow has decided to marry our two favorite parts of March with our very own Starch Madness bracket. Here we pit potato dish against potato dish and cabbage recipe against cabbage recipe. And the best part: you get to decide the winners! So answer the survey at the bottom for which dish sounds best to you and stay tuned for which makes the cut for next week.
Chile Lime Potato Tacos
So to be fair, this may not be exactly what you think of when you think of your classic St. Patty's Day potato dish. But here we know some people need a little spice to warm up their spring. Try RPE's original take on potato tacos. This spicy and cheesy recipe can even be made vegetarian if the mood strikes. And for St. Patty's Day bonus points? Use cabbage instead of the usual lettuce!
And this recipe's challenger...
Bacon and BBQ Red Potato Salad
This recipe from Black Gold Farms takes potato salad to the next level. Can you think of anything better than bringing this to a St. Patty's Day picnic? Adding bacon AND barbecue sauce to a classic potato salad makes this recipe a formidable opponent for our Starch Madness Bracket.
And for the opposite side of the bracket: cabbage!
Hearty Cabbage Miso Soup
Again, AndNowUKnow is foregoing the traditional St. Patty's Day recipes and going for a bit of an Asian flair. And be honest, you know you'll have cabbage leftovers after that initial holiday feast. An easy and savory way to celebrate Starch Madness is with Frontera's Hearty Cabbage Miso Soup.
And last but not least, our final recipe...
Mediterranean Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
Another tasty recipe from Frontera rounds out the final four. This Mediterranean Stuffed Cabbage Roll dish features a healthy dose of garlic and all the pork sausage you could ever dream of, making this a tough adversary to beat.
Now it's your turn, vote for your favorite dish in the poll and stay tuned next week for which recipe makes the cut!
