Alpine Fresh Announces the Retirement of John Lyons, Director of Sales
MIAMI, FL - While the start of a journey breeds excitement and new wonders, the end of a journey marks the accomplishment of conquering the road you have travelled, and is therefore equally worth celebrating. This is the case as Alpine Fresh announces the retirement of its veteran Director of Sales, John Lyons, who has been with the company for 30 years.
“In the early days, we wore many hats, which allowed me to learn the different aspects of the produce business. We had a small but determined team, and we were very committed to growing the business. We developed core values that we still use 30 years later,” said Lyons. “I’ve had the opportunity to watch Alpine Fresh grow from a very small company to a large organization, and it has been a phenomenal experience. I have had a long run with Alpine, and I am very proud of what has been accomplished.”
Lyons started his long journey in the produce industry back in 1987, joining Alpine Fresh in 1990 when it was in the starting phases of what eventually would become an industry player.
According to a press release, although he is officially retiring from his role as Director of Sales, Lyons will remain connected to the company as a consultant.
“John has played an essential role in the growth and success of Alpine Fresh over these last 30 years. He has been instrumental in developing and leading our sales team, helping to make Alpine a leader in the industry,” explained Walter Yager, CEO. “John started with us in 1990 when we were an eight-person operation trying to find a place in the industry, and with his guidance we have been able to grow into what Alpine is today. It has been a fun ride, and it was a pleasure to work alongside such a professional. John will always be a part of the Alpine Fresh family.”
In his three-decade ride with Alpine, it is clear that Lyons has made an indelible imprint on those he has come to know.
Working tirelessly to take a burgeoning company and help expand it into a fresh produce juggernaut is no small feat, but it is his attitude that has left the biggest impact.
“John is one of the most well-liked and respected people in the produce business. We are proud to have had the pleasure of working with John for 30 years, which in today’s work culture is a major achievement. It is going to be difficult not seeing him in the office every day, but we are grateful that he will remain as a consultant,” commented Jose Sanchez, President.
Though his journey may have included the twists and turns that most people in this industry have come to know and embrace, John can look back and see the miles he has covered and feel the overwhelming sense of accomplishment that one only understands after they have completed the final leg of their voyage. We wish him nothing but the best as he starts his new expedition into the world of retirement.
