Ever Tru Farms Announces First Shipment of Greenhouse-Grown Strawberries; Paul J. Mastronardi and Butch Demers Discuss
KINGSVILLE, ONTARIO, CANADA - A new strawberry name has hit the industry as Ever Tru Farms, an Ontario-based greenhouse grower, has shipped its first batch of berries to retailers across the United States and Canada. Using its unique, vertically integrated approach and hydroponic growing process, the company has its sights set on even further expansion moving forward.
“Shipments to the North American Market hit stores in March,” Paul J. Mastronardi, Director of Sales, stated. “Initial feedback from retailers has been positive, and we look forward to providing consumers with strawberries that are Forever Delicious™.”
Allowing Ever Tru complete control over the growing process from propagation to distribution, the company’s entire operation is under one team, a press release stated. Over the last six years, the berry grower has been reconstructing and adapting its sustainable growing process and, as a result, has developed an expansion strategy for its strawberries based on quality, consistency, and transparency.
“By the fall, Ever Tru Farms will have an additional 600,000 square feet of hydroponic growing space, resulting in a production of 32,000 cases per week,” Mastronardi added. “Our expansion plan will ensure that demand from consumers and our retail partnerships will be met.”
Ever Tru’s strawberries are cultivated using a hydroponics system in a controlled environment using maximized biological control and are non-GMO. The company also uses LED supplemental lighting in its greenhouses to create conditions for year-round production, overall producing 20,000 cases of strawberries per week.
“We want to improve the strawberry eating experience,” commented Butch Demers, Vice President of Sales. “We believe that people deserve a sweet, delicious, and juicy strawberry every time.”
